Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy/Cowgirl Booties Pattern

This is written for a size 3-6 months but I've also made them in a 0-3 months using this same pattern and using a D hook. I'm sure larger sizes could be made with larger hooks.

Materials:

• Size E Crochet Hook

• Worsted Weight Yarn

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain

• sc = single crochet

• hdc = half double crochet

• st = stitch

• BLO = back loop only

• flo = front loop only

• sc dec = single crochet decrease

• sl st = slip stitch

• hdc dec = half double crochet decrease

• dc = double crochet

With first color, ch 7.

Round 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of the next 4, 5 sc in last ch. Now working on the back side of the chain, sc across. Join in first sc. Ch 2.

Round 2: hdc in first st, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 6 sts. Join to first hdc. Ch 1.

Round 3: sc first st and each of next 6 sts, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, hdc in each of next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, hdc next 4 sts, 2 hdc next 2 sts, hdc last st. Join to first sc. Ch 2.

Round 4: working in blo, hdc in each st around. Join to first hdc. Ch 1.

Round 5: working in both loops, sc in each st around. Join to first sc. Fasten off. Join next color.

Round 6: sc in each st around. Join to first sc. Ch 1.

Round 7: sc next 12, sc dec 3 times, sc next 9. Join to first sc. Ch 1.

Round 8: sc next 10, sc dec 3 times, sc next 8. Join to first sc. Ch 1.

Round 9: sc next 10, sc dec twice, sc next 6 sts. Join to first sc. Ch 1.

Round 10: sl st in next 8, BLO hdc next 4 sts, ch 1, turn, working in both loops 2 hdc in first st, hdc, hdc, 2 hdc in last st, ch 1, turn, hdc dec 3 times, ch 1, turn, hdc dec, hdc. Fasten off leaving a long tail.

Round 11: join first color at the heel end, sc in next 8, in this round only, sc in the flo (it's the unused loops from round 10) of the next 4 sts, sc in remaining sts. Join to first sc. 

Rounds 12-18: sc in each st around. Join to first sc. Ch 1. Fasten off. Join second color.

Round 19: hdc in next 5 sts, 3 dc in next st, hdc in next 9 sts, 3 dc in next st, hdc in remaining sts. Fasten off.

Use the tail from round 10 to stitch this piece to the front of the boot.

Weave in all tails.

Star

Make 2

Round 1: starting with a magic ring, ch 1, 10 sc in ring. Join to first sc. Pull tail of ring to tighten.

Round 2: *ch 2, hdc in next st, ch 3, sc twice around post of hdc, sl st in next st*. Repeat from * to * for 5 points. Fasten off leaving a long tail to stitch to boot.

Stitch stars to boots on opposite sides.
